Education for siblings

Providing a route out of poverty for families of children with cerebral palsy

eduforsib

Many families of children with cerebral palsy in Nepal are impoverished, with the condition exacerbating their situation. The programme helps to provide families with a route out of poverty by funding the education of siblings of children with cerebral palsy.

Cerebral Palsy Nepal and other donors currently help to support 12 children.

In the short-term, the scholarships directly help to lessen the burden on the family’s finances; in the long-term, they help to provide siblings with the education they need to make the most of their opportunities in life. In turn, this will help the family to provide the best care for the cerebral palsy child even after the parents are gone.
