Priya’s Story

Program: Sibling Scholarships

My elder brother is Prabesh. He is 22-years-old. He is not fine like the rest of us. He cannot speak. My parents told me that he is like this from the time he was born. He has seen many doctors but there is no progress.

He went to Cerebral Palsy Nepal. They helped by exercising his whole body. Then after a few years my mother could not carry him and so the home visitor came instead. Cerebral Palsy Nepal provided many things to him as well, like a wheelchair, two sitting chairs and many toys.

Because of the scholarship I receive, I am able to be the first in my family to attend a college. I have just completed my +2 level in Kathmandu. Now my future plans are to complete my higher level studies. Also in the coming future I hope to serve more unfortunate and under-represented people.

My younger sister also receives a scholarship. Because of the help that we receive my father is able to manage the family’s basic needs as he doesn’t need to worry about tuition fees.

So I would like to thank with all my heart the Vistare Foundation and the Cerebral Palsy Nepal for providing a scholarship for our studies.
